MERANO ENCHANTS YOU WITH THE
MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDEN IN ITALY
Views of exotic, Mediterranean landscapes,
vistas that extend out across surrounding
mountain chains and sun-soaked Merano: In
this natural amphitheatre, the gardens of
Schloss Trauttmansdorff bring together over
80 different garden worlds. After taking seven
years to build, they were finally opened in
June 2001. Nowadays, this grand work of art
is truly resplendent in all its beauty –
in 2005, this 12-hectare attraction was crowned
the most beautiful garden in Italy, whilst
also being named “Europe’s Garden”
in 2006. |

GARDENS IN MOTION
From the colourful blossoms of thousands upon
thousands of tulips, to those evocative tones
of autumn – South Tyrol’s most
beautiful excursion destination is a source
of constant enthusiasm throughout the gardening
year, also hosting such colourful events as:
“A Charming Breakfast with Sissi”,
exotic cocktail evenings, and World Music
on those balmy summer nights. Yet another
exciting highlight is the exhibition, “It’s
all about palms!”.
